Injera sprints back into Sevens team

Mwamba speedster Collins Injera made a comeback to the national Sevens team preparing for the Hamilton Sevens.
KCB winger Geoffrey Okwatch also got the nod as the final squad was named yesterday in Nakuru.
Okwatch earned his place into the Shujaa squad following a sterling performance in the Kenya Cup League this season as well as in the national Sevens circuit last season, while Injera makes a comeback from an injury he sustained last season.
Injera missed the 2019-2020 opening leg, Dubai Sevens, and Cape Town Sevens.
Assistant coach Kevin Wambua said the duo is a great addition to the squad that will take part in the Hamilton Sevens in New Zealand and Sydney Sevens in Australia on January 25-26 and February 1-2 respectively.

KCB winger/back Jacob Ojee and Nondies fly half Oscar Dennis were dropped from the squad that featured in Dubai and Cape Town Sevens due to injuries.
Others who made the team are KCB trio of captain Andrew Amonde, fly-half Johnston Olindi, and utility Vincent Onyala. Nakuru RFC’s forward Nelson Oyoo has been retained alongside Mwamba fullback Billy Odhiambo, Willy Ambaka (Kenya Harlequins), Homeboyz trio of winger Geoffrey Oluoch, forward Alvin Otieno and Bush Mwale, Mwamba scrum-half Daniel Taabu and forward Herman Humwa of Kenya Harlequins.
Wambua said the squad selected has a mixture of experience and young blood.
Kenya is in Pool B in the Hamilton Sevens alongside South Africa, England, and Japan.
