Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) will be aiming to continue with their perfect start to the 2019-2020 KRU Championship when they host leaders Strathmore Leos at MMUST Grounds in Kakamega today.

MMUST head coach Ahaya Ochieng said they are prepared to fight for the top spot with a massive win.

The Kakamega-based students have already bagged wins against Egerton Wasps, United States International University, Kisii, Mean Machine, University of Eldoret and Eldoret RFC which place them second behind leaders Leos with 25 points.

He said they have been training well and their objective is to register a bonus win and reduce the four-point gap between them and Leos.

“Six victories in a row is a good start for us and I have faith in the team that they will deliver another important victory today. We are working on catching up with Strathmore,” he said.

The former Kenya Cup outfit is also unbeaten having won all their six matches against Pirates, USIU, Mombasa, Catholic Monks, Mean Machine and Northern Suburbs, but captain Samuel Mbeche believes if they are clinical and disciplined, they will emerge victorious.

“Last season we struggled a lot during big matches because we were not disciplined. We were giving away many fouls and penalties but this year we have improved,” Mbeche said.
