Former Fiji Sevens international Timoci Sinaite scored a hat-trick to inspire Kabras Sugar to a massive 89-0 win over novices Kisumu RFC on Saturday at Kakamega Showground.

The three-time Kenya Cup runners up scored 15 tries to go top of the Kenya Cup standings with a bonus win as they kick started the 2019-20 season on a high.

Head coach Henley Du Plessis said he was happy for the big win and they will build on the victory push for more wins in their bid to dethrone KCB.

“Today was amazing and fantastic for the boys who almost made it 100. We are now going to build on the win and try to repeat what we did last season, with a plus of trying to win the title now,” Du Plessis told the Standard Sports after the match.

New signing Lawrence Buyachi gave the sugar men the lead four minutes into the match with Jona Kubu adding the extras before Kenya 15s international George Nyambua double the scores for a 12-0 lead.

Former Fiji Sevens international Timoci Sinaite would then open his Kabras account before Nyambua grabbed his brace and Paul Abuto ensuring the hosts take a healthy 29-0 lead into the break.

Scrum half Brian Tanga would then extend the millers lead to 36-0 with a touch down immediately after the restart as Sinaite, Sifuan, Asuman Mugerwa, Hillary Odhiambo and Ian Ayange joined the fray for a sentimental 89-0 win.
