Dismal Kenya Cup show rattles Nakuru RFC bosses

Top Fry Nakuru RFC's poor performance in the Kenya Cup League has unnerved the team's technical bench and fans.
The team succumbed to their second consecutive defeat in two weeks, losing 19-17 to Kabras Sugar RFC at Nakuru Athletic Club over the weekend.
Nakuru lost 47-3 to Kenya Commercial Bank in Ruaraka the previous weekend.
Against Kabras Sugar, Nakuru took a 9-7 halftime lead and got five penalties through man-of-the match and playmaker Geoffrey Ominde, but their thirst for victory was cut short by a late try by Kabras Sugar fly half Felix Ayange, who touched down with only five seconds to time.
At the final whistle, Kabras Sugar coach Michael Bishop clenched his right fist, jumped high and punched the air twice in jubilation.

"You must learn to be humble and take every minute of the match at a time. All that calls for humility," said Bishop in a post-match interview.
Nakuru head coach Enos Otieno singled out match officials for their dismal show, blaming them for their twin loss. He said the match officials need to be taken to task for the growth of the game.
"Poor officiating has so far caused us two matches, but we are not relenting. We still have many matches left. In today's match (against Kabras Sugar), the referee's positioning was wanting and he intentionally penalised us with unwanted fouls, but look forward for improvement," said Otieno.
Nakuru have been on the receiving end since the departure of their former head coach Dominique Habimana, who has since joined Kenya Harlequins. Key players also walked out on the club, leading to their present predicament.
