Postmen retain football title at Kecoso games

Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) retained the Football title after a barren draw with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in a tough match of the Kenya Communications Sports Organisations (Kecoso) games in Nakuru.
Both teams displayed a skilful game but lost several scoring chances during the action-packed encounter of the seven-day sports extravaganza. During the match, Nixon Odera of PCK was given his marching orders for a rough tackle on KPA’s Mohammed Shukri, who was rushed to hospital after sustaining a rib injury.
As a result, PCK, who have a superior goal aggregate, lead the table standings with seven points from three matches.
In basketball, PCK won the title after amassing a maximum 12 points from four matches.
PCK won all their matches. They won 72-43 against Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), 78-43 against Ministry of Information and Communication (MOIC) and 64-45 against Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).
In their last match on Friday, PCK were forced to work extra hard before overcoming a stubborn KPA 73-71 at Menengai High School.
RUNNERS-UP
KPA finished runners-up with six points from four matches.
They won two matches and lost two. The team had tied with MOIC on six points but emerged second on a superior baskets aggregate, having scored 302 baskets and conceded 230, while MOIC scored 197 and conceded 209.
KCAA finished fourth with three points from four matches followed by KAA.
KCAA had also tied on points with KAA but had a higher baskets aggregate, having scored 198 baskets against 315, while KAA scored 163 against 226.
JOINT SECOND
In Netball, PCK won the title after collecting eight points from four matches, followed by Ministry of Transport (MOT), who tied with Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on five points.
MOT prevailed upon KPA with a superior 62 goals compared to KPA’s 35. KAA were fourth with four points, while MOIC trailed with no point.
In their final netball matches, KPA defeated KAA 39-34 and Ministry of Information and Communication lost 13-67 to MOT at Afraha Open Grounds.
In table tennis, KAA were crowned the new champions.They achieved the feat after accumulating 22 points having won all their five matches.
KPA were second with 21 points having won four matches and lost one while PCK were third with six points winning three matches and losing two.
KCAA were fourth with four points after winning two matches and losing three. Others were Ministry of Information and Communication, who bagged three points to finish fifth with a win and four loses, while PCK trailed after losing all their matches.
KCAA scooped the pool title with 91 points from six matches after winning all their six matches. PCK were second with 80 points following four wins and two loses. KAA were third (84 points) after three victories and three loses.
KPA came fourth with 78 points ahead of Communication Commission of Kenya (CCK), who bagged 70 points. MOIC and MOT were joint bottom after tying on six points. In darts, KPA won the title with 76 points followed by PCK (71), KAA (60), MOT (36) and MOIC (14).
