Rafa Benitez is one of three experienced managers under consideration for the Tottenham job.

The north London outfit sacked Jose Mourinho last month and are now looking to appoint his successor.

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has no far been snubbed by some of his leading candidates as the search draws on.

Ryan Mason has been appointed until the end of the season giving the club time to weigh up their options.

But the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag and Julian Nagelsmann have all rejected Tottenham's advances with the latter opting for a switch to Bayern Munich.

Levy could now be about to change his approach and seek a safe pair of hands.

Benitez, who has Premier League experience with Liverpool and Newcastle, has managed some of Europe's heavyweights and is of interest, reports the Daily Mail.

Ralf Rangnick has held managerial and sporting director roles and has long seen his influence on German coaches hailed

He recently worked at RB Leipzig and at 62 will not be phased by Tottenham's ambitions should they make a move.

Max Allegri, who has been out of a job for almost two years, is also on the club's shortlist.

The 53-year-old has never managed outside Italy but enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in charge of Juventus winning five Serie As including four league and cup doubles.

Levy appears to be favouring the tried and tested method rather than taking a punt on an untried manager at the top level.

The likes of Graham Potter, Eddie Howe and Scott Parker have all been touted as candidates but would have questions still to answer.

That said Levy has not given up hope on prising Rodgers away from Leicester despite the Northern Irishman distancing himself from the role.
