Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to make one change to his Manchester United side when they visit Southampton.

The Norwegian watched on as his side scored four in midweek as they saw off Turkish opposition in the Champions League.

Solskjaer handed Donny van de Beek a rare start in United's midfield alongside Fred.

The Dutchman duly took his opportunity with a stellar display that may have kept him in the starting XI.

He was able to provide balance in a midfield three that will also include Wednesday's two-goal man Bruno Fernandes.

Edinson Cavani was also handed a rare start at Old Trafford and led the line well.

However Mason Greenwood, who was introduced in the second-half, may completed an attacking trio also including Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The young Englishman has endured a difficult few weeks but his manager remains committed to getting the best out of him.

"We have got a tradition of helping youngsters develop and go through the ranks," he said.

"As a club we have good tradition and we help players from difficult periods as well as good."

Solskjaer expressed concerns over both Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the win four days ago.

The Swede was withdrawn at half-time while Wan-Bissaka came off on the hour mark.

Both look to have shaken off their respective issues and will form an unchanged back four but Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba look set to miss out.

"Scott and Paul they didn't train this morning, not on the grass. Very unlikely for the weekend," Solskjaer said on Friday.

"Marcus, Victor, Aaron should be okay but not 100%. Luke has started rehab on the grass, not with the squad."

Predicted line-up: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; Fred, Van de Beek; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
