The second week of the English Premier League 2019/20 action will conclude with Manchester United visiting Molineux to take on top-six hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 18th. The new Kenyan betting site 22bet.co.ke offers to take a look at the prediction for the match.

Wolverhampton VS Manchester United Preview

The opening weekend of the season couldn’t have gone much better for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United as they were comprehensive 4-0 winners over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Debut boy Harry Maguire got all the plaudits for his performance at the back, but there were a host of players that performed excellently. Aaron Wan-Bissaka also marked his debut with a fine display, while another debutant, Daniel James, found the net for the fourth goal. Marcus Rashford also scored a brace, while there was a typical number nine goal for Anthony Martial. The Red Devils were explosive on the counter-attack, but the assignment in front of them in the West Midlands will involve an entirely different game plan.

Wolves have aspirations of their own this season and are hopeful of mounting a serious challenge of finishing in the top six. However, they will need to improve in front of goal if they are to do that, as they were wasteful on the opening day against Leicester City.

They were unfortunate not to have got all three points though, as VAR controversially ruled out a Leander Dendoncker goal after Willy Boly had been adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up. Wolves will be hopeful of putting in a better performance in front of their home fans for the first time this season, and the recent form book would suggest they have a great chance.

Head to Head

Manchester United holds a clear advantage in the overall record between the sides having won 48 of the fixtures. Wolves have been victorious on 36 occasions; while there have been 17 draws. Last season, however, the Red Devils couldn’t beat Wolves on the three occasions they met. It was a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford before Wolves would beat United in the FA Cup 2-0 and then 2-1 in the league at Molineux.

Wolverhampton VS Manchester Prediction

This will be an interesting match as we will learn more about both teams. How United managed to play against a team that will allow them to have the ball will be fascinating as they won’t be able to utilise their counter-attacking tactics. However, the form of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba will encourage punters that United should get over the line.
