Bobby Madley was sacked for a Snapchat slur against the disabled, it has been claimed.

The 32-year-old allegedly posted an offensive message on the platform which was passed on to Premier League chiefs, report The Sun.

Madley reportedly shared a picture of a disabled man with an accompanying insensitive remark regarding the likelihood of him being able to beat the official in a school sports day race.

One of Madley's Snapchat followers apparently took a grab of the comment and sent it on to his bosses, who are said to have subsequently fired the referee.

Madley, who was allegedly on a six-figure salary plus bonuses, is reportedly under a gagging order as part of his exit package, explaining the silence surrounding his unexpected departure.

He has now moved to Norway in a bid to rebuild his life, having also recently split with his wife.

Madley refereed 19 Premier League games last season.

A Premier League spokesman told The Sun: "Bobby Madley is no longer employed by PGMOL. We understand he has decided to relocate due to a change in his personal circumstances.”
