Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has dismissed the apology made to former first lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua terming it as a political move.
Speaking on KTN news on March 26, the MP said that the DP is just aiming at creating good political rapport with the Mount Kenya region.
"I think it's a result of the things happening in Mt. Kenya region. Some disquiet is building, some are contending to replace him from his seat and that is public knowledge," Amollo said
"He needs all the friends that he can gather, including Uhuru Kenyatta, the better for him."

The legislature opined that the DP is losing its grip on the region due to the heavy taxation imposed by the government.
"There is disquiet over the actions that have been taken first in terms of over-taxation because they have realised it is extremely harmful to many business people and ordinary citizens in Mount Kenya," he said.
MP Amollo said that Gachagua is trying to swallow back their previous actions to win back public trust.
His remarks follow a recent retreat of words by Gachagua on the attack made against Kenya's former first lady and former President Uhuru Kenyatta after the 2022 General Election.
"I am sorry for involving Mama Ngina Kenyatta in the last general elections politics. She is our mother. I therefore ask for forgiveness on behalf of our team for any inconvenience caused to her. I will never allow anyone to demean her or anyone from the region," Gachagua said back then.
"The former President Uhuru Kenyatta is our son. We worked together for 17 years and only disagreed for 2 years and now that's the past. I pray for him in his retirement. Uhuru is one of us. We shall talk with everyone.
