Azimio's Martha Karua claims with time, she and her presidential candidate Raila Odinga will turn the tide and secure victory in court and eventually at the ballot.

This is after UDA's William Ruto was declared President-elect on August 15 after victory in the recently held polls.

Ruto, as per the IEBC, got 7.18 million votes against Odinga's 6.94 million votes to be announced the winner after meeting the 50 per cent-plus one constitutional threshold.

On Tuesday, Raila Odinga said he'll contest the outcome at the Supreme Court, citing alleged malpractice by IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati.

Karua is now optimistic that she and Odinga will secure victory in court and in the resultant repeat election.

"On the matter of election, ours is victory deferred. However, it's coming home. That's the message I have for Kenyans," Karua said on Wednesday at the KICC after Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition held its inaugural parliamentary group meeting.

The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya deputy presidential candidate also reiterated Odinga's decision to take their grievance to court, saying they were sticking to constitutional ways of resolving electoral disputes.
