Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa's lawyer John Khaminwa has moved to court seeking to file bail for his client pending arrest, in a case where he is suspected of murder.
Barasa is suspected of shooting dead his rival's aide, Brian Olunga.
Olunga was an aide of Brian Khaemba, a parliamentary candidate for the Kimilili Parliamentary seat.
Khaminwa, in a letter to the DPP and DCI, said: "Take notice today that Messrs Khaminwa and Khaminwa advocates have filed an application on behalf of Barasa for bail pending arrest."

"As soon as the application is heard and appropriate orders are made, you will be advised accordingly."
DCI on Thursday asked Barasa to surrender to the nearest police station within the next six hours.
"A specialized team of sleuths based from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau and the Homicide department has been dispatched to augment the teams on the ground for his manhunt," police said.
Anyone found harboring the legislator will face the full wrath of the law, DCI warned.
