Kenya's sole Taekwondo representative at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Faith Ogallo this morning suffered heartbreak after she lost 13-0 to Serbian Milica Mandic in the Women's +67kg Round-of-16 contest.
The Serbian was dominant from the start and at no point did she allow her rival the slightest chance.
The 2018 East African University Games gold medalist Ogallo exited the competition without registering a single point after losing all three rounds.
Mandic,29, won the first round with 5:0, the second 7:0, and the third with 1:0.
It was the first Olympics stint for 27-year-old Ogallo, after qualifying at the 2020 African Taekwondo Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Rabat, Morocco.
Milica Mandic will fight against the Pole Aleksandra Kovalchuk in the quarterfinals.
Twelve years have passed since Kenya last sent a female Tae Kwon Do player to the Olympics.
