A 26-year-old woman in Kegonga, Kuria East Sub-County has committed suicide alongside her nine- months-old son over alleged frustrations from her husband.

Kuria East Sub-County Police Commander James Mugo said the woman who was identified as Susan Bhoke used a sisal rope to hang her son and herself.

According to Mugo, the woman and her nine-months-old baby were found dangling from the roof of their rental house.

"She was found at the sitting room. We have launched our investigations into the matter," Mr Mugo said.

The woman is said to have tied a rope to the roof of her house before putting it on her neck and an extended section on her son's neck.

The woman is said to have recorded herself using her phone, while lamenting in her mothertongue over the frustrations her husband allegedly put her through.

Mugo stated that she had left behind a suicide note in which she had indicated that she has committed suicide because of the frustrations she got from her husband.

"We were not able to establish immediately what transpired between her (deceased) and her husband," Mugo said.
