Woman killed, several injured in suspected Al-Shabaab attack in Mandera

A woman in Mandera's Sarman village is dead and several others injured following a suspected terror attack.

According to security personnel in Rhamo, the woman died after suspected Al-Shabaab militants targeted a public service vehicle plying the Banisa - Mandera road in Mandera North.

"The Land Cruiser had eleven passengers. Apart from the woman who died, all the others safely escaped after the ambush," said a chief who spoke to The Standard on condition of anonymity.

The chief called for action saying Al-Shabaab militia have for the past month proliferated in Mandera North.
