Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau, popularly known as Kate Actress, recently responded to online speculation regarding the timeline of her new relationship following her separation from Philip Karanja, also known as Phil Director.

The conversation started after Kate shared romantic photos from a Dubai vacation with Michael Mwangi, the General Manager of Tribe Hotel, who is said to be her current partner.

Addressing netizens in the comment section, the actress clarified that her relationship with Mwangi was already well-established before they went public and only her inner circle was aware.

In a direct response to an inquisitive comment, Kamau humorously noted, "No boo, we're just not in the group chat...Bye."

Further engaging with her followers, Kate encountered a question comparing her situation to climbing "Mt. Sinai," to which she replied, "...But it's been such a long ride, the group chat understood the assignment."

Another follower asked her why she was quick to find a new partner to which Kamau responded, "We are not looking; they find us."

Before confirming her relationship with Mwangi on Instagram on February 11, 2024, the couple had been seen together at various public events.

Kate and Phil announced their decision to end their five-year marriage on September 19, 2023, through a joint statement, and appealed for privacy during their transition, for the sake of their children.

"We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children," wrote Kate.
