Renowned music icon Daddy Yankee recently bid goodbye to his music career, revealing his decision to embark on a new journey dedicated to Christianity.

The artist, celebrated for hits like "Gasolina", disclosed this significant life change during his farewell tour's concluding performance at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico on December 3.

Addressing the audience, Daddy Yankee, now embracing his birth name Ramon Ayala, shared, "Today is the most important day of my life. I want to share it because a successful life is different from a purposeful one." He confessed that the days of seeking fulfillment in other avenues were behind him, acknowledging the fulfillment found in his newfound faith.

While his retirement had been previously announced without explicit mention of the role his faith played in the decision, Daddy Yankee, now Ramon Ayala, confirmed the influence of his beliefs.

In a subsequent Instagram post, he further emphasized, "Tonight, I openly acknowledge that Christ lives in me, and I choose to live for Him. This marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one."

Citing St. Matthew 16:26-27, he reflected, "What good is it to gain the whole world if you lose your life? The Son of Man will come, and each will be rewarded according to their deeds. Amen ."
