American rapper 50 Cent this week hurled a microphone into a crowd in frustration, hitting a fan on the head.

The rapper, who was performing at the Crypto.com Arena as part of his 'Final Lap' tour, was allegedly upset after being handed several microphones that did not work.

The microphone apparently landed on the head of Power 106 radio host Bryhana Monegain although 50's camp has maintained that he would not intentionally strike anyone.

"Let's be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis (AKA 50 Cent) would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone.

"Anyone saying something different doesn't have all the facts and is misinformed," 50 Cent's attorney Scott Leemon was quoted by TMZ.

This comes just weeks after rapper Cardi B, while performing in Las Vegas, threw a microphone at a fan who had thrown a drink at her.

Video footage circulating on social media captured the moment the star hurled the microphone from the stage before security intervened.

Later, the microphone was sold on eBay for about $100,000.

Scott Fisher, owner of the audio production company that provided equipment, auctioned it off for a good cause. "Shure Axient digital Mic Cardi B threw at a person," read the eBay listing.

Scott told Insider he was at first worried about the damage on the $1000 microphone. It, however, had markings and a label making it easy to identify.

When people approached him offering to buy it or advising him to sell it after the video went viral, he decided to sell it and donate the proceeds to charity.
