New dating App to help Nairobians find love

A firm will next month unveil a dating app to connect individuals who have a common heritage by conducting matches based on one's preferences and not some fancy algorithm. According to Pacaya Africa CEO Kamau Kibugi, all that one needs is to tell them the range, distance from their location, their interests and hobbies plus their deal breakers.

"As an option, if you tell us your ancestral home and your religious preference, we will get you the exact match. We want you to go out on a date and have fun. To start with, you will be able to download the free Android version on the Google Play Store in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, the UK, the USA, Germany, and Canada," he said, noting that there are millions of Africans in the diaspora who want to date folks from their mother country.

"Similarly, there are also those at home who prefer to date diasporans from their home country- we make this possible. With the Pacaya Safari mode, you can change your location in your profile in order to chat with members who live in the city you are looking to visit. We are a freemium social dating app. This means we have many free features such as free chats and we have premium services such as video dating," he said.
