Jalang'o: I will no longer host club events

Lang'ata MP-elect Felix Odiwuor has said he will not host club events henceforth due to the nature of his new job.
Jalas, as he is popularly referred to, often hosted gigs at a number of entertainment joints but has said he understands the responsibility that comes with being a lawmaker and he will dedicate his time to it.
While addressing a number of questions that were posed to him by his followers, the media personality, however, said he will still do advertisements and will empower young people in concept development and film.
"Will you still be hosting club events and club appearances? NO! My new job comes with a lot of responsibilities and time for clubs might not be there anymore.
"Will you still be doing advertisements? Hell yeah!! A lot of them! We will actually be now working with the young people of Langata in concept development and filming! I want to train as many young people as possible in our resource centers," he wrote.
When asked about radio and whether he would juggle that and his legislative duties, the former Kiss FM presenter said he still loves radio and would consider a morning show that ends by 9am.
"Radio is my love and if I get a morning show that ends by 9 so that I can make it for bunge on time then why not? I know many Mps who still do their jobs and deliver for their constituency."
He added that he intends to use his networks to help the people of Lang'ata and will only engage brands that will support community projects in his constituency.
Over the weekend, Jalas thanked all those who voted for him but admitted that he has a lot to learn as a first-time legislator.
Speaking ahead of Azimio La Umoja's Elected Leaders Inaugural Conference at KICC, he thanked the incumbent, Nixon Korir, for showing political maturity and said he would consult widely to ensure he transforms Lang'ata.
"I want to thank the people of Lang'ata who overwhelmingly voted me in. I also want to thank the incumbent Nixon Korir who conceded and was present as I was being given the certificate.
"He (Nixon) said we will work together and support each other. This win is not about me but the people of Lang'ata. As a first-timer I have a lot to learn," he remarked.
Jalas said he was aware of the task ahead of him but he will bring together the residents of Lang'ata who demonstrated peace and calm throughout the election process.
"There is a lot to do but we shall work as a community. All the five wards. The people of Lang'ata are very peaceful. They love each other and they love peace.
"When Nixon saw it was not going his way he showed maturity in politics. We need peace and development," he added.
