Acting Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli has urgently applied to the court to overturn his recent conviction and suspend its intended sentences for failing to comply with court orders regarding the disappearance of three men in Kajiado County.

Masengeli contends that his absence from court on September 5 and September 9, 2024, was necessitated by critical security operations in various regions, including responses to militia attacks and other urgent threats.

In his application, Masengeli provides a detailed explanation, asserting that these ongoing security operations were paramount and required his immediate attention, thus justifying his non-attendance.

He offers an unreserved apology for missing the court dates and emphasizes his respect for the court's authority.

Masengeli stresses that the demands of national security necessitated prioritizing operational duties over personal legal matters.

The Inspector General requests that the court exercise its discretion to excuse his attendance today September 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. due to his continued security responsibilities.

He urges the court to set aside the decision to find him guilty of contempt.
