President William Ruto is scheduled to leave the country this evening for an official visit to Beijing, China.

In a press release shared on X, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed announced that the President will be leading the Kenyan delegation to the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit.

"The summit brings together African Heads of State, Chinese leaders, and the African Union (AU) Commission to discuss and strengthen Sino-African relations," Mohammed said.

The theme of the Summit is "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future." This theme underscores the commitment of African governments and China to leverage their comparative advantages to foster industrial and socio-economic development policies and programs for a prosperous future.

During his visit, the President will also participate in high-profile meetings and events aimed at strengthening Kenya-China relations and exploring new areas of collaboration.

Key among his engagements, President Ruto will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new areas of cooperation between Kenya and China.

The President's meetings are expected to yield significant benefits, including strengthened partnerships with China and agreements on support for infrastructure development, such as the construction of rural roads across the country.
