A week later, some former Cabinet Secretaries are yet to update their profiles.

It has been almost one week since President William Ruto dismissed his entire Cabinet.

On Thursday, July 11, Ruto fired all Cabinet Secretaries except Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi.

Many of the dismissed CSs took to their social media accounts to express gratitude and thank the president for allowing them to serve the country.

But, a week later, some have yet to update their profiles to reflect their new status, as Kenyans await the appointment of new replacements.

A spot check by The Standard on social media platforms shows that some CSs have removed their titles, while others continue to use them.

Yet to update:

They include; Kithure Kindiki (who still refers to himself as CS of Interior and National Administration on X, Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Peninah Malonza who was in charge of the EAC, ASALs and Regional Development, and Salim Mvurya (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs) .

Former CSs who have updated profiles

The former CSs who have updated their profiles to remove their titles include; Eliud Owalo (Information, Communication and Digital Economy), Ababu Namwamba (Sports), Alfred Mutua (Tourism and Wildlife), Susan Nakhumicha (Health), Moses Kuria (Public Service), Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport), Florence Bore (Labour), Soipan Tuya (Environment and Climate Change), Alice Wahome (Lands), Davis Chirchir (Energy and Petroleum), Rebecca Miano (Investment, Trade and Industry)

Others have recognized their former positions by referring to themselves as "former" or "outgoing" CSs. They include; Mithika Linturi (Agriculture and Livestock), Aden Duale (Defense), Simon Chelugui (Cooperative, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Aisha Jumwa (Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage)

In addition to X, the former CSs have similarly updated their Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.

Some, like Njuguna Nd'ungu (Treasury and Planning) and Zachariah Njeru, are minimal users of these platforms.

Following the changes made by the president, Mudavadi was appointed to oversee all CS positions temporarily.

Online publications like Wikipedia and various search engines have updated the information, referring to the dismissed CSs as "former."

This comes as President William Ruto is expected to address the nation at 4.00pm from Nairobi's State House, with speculation that he could be naming a new Cabinet.
