Five-year-old boy steals the show on tree planting day

A five-year-old primary school pupil stole the day during the National Tree Planting Campaign presided over by President William Ruto at the Kiambicho Forest in Murang'a County.
Quintine Gitau, a Grade 1 pupil at Precious Jewels Primary School, bravely walked to where the President was and greeted him amid applause from the crowd.
After addressing the residents, President Ruto held Gitau's hand as he headed to the area where trees would be planted.
Gitau then went step by step with the President. The Head of State would dig a hole, place and together with Gitau they would ensure it had enough soil.
Together, they planted close to 100 trees in an area where 20,000 were planted at the Karua Forest Station in Kiambicho Forest.
Gitau demonstrated that climate action is a universal and collective endeavour.
He stood out as an inspiration, proving that everyone, regardless of age, has a role to play in environmental conservation.
