Fridah Mokaya officially takes over as Chief Registrar of Judiciary

Winfridah Mokaya Boyani, the newly appointed Chief Registrar of the Judiciary has been sworn in Monday morning.

Her swearing-in comes a week after the months-long competitive recruitment exercise where the Judicial Service Commission settled on her.

While taking the oath of office, Mokaya said she was aware and ready to deliver what Kenyans want from the courts.

"Having been a judicial officer working in the regions & in the administration where I have spent the past 13 yrs, I have been at the forefront of the administration of justice & understood the aspirations & expectations of the Kenyan people on the Judiciary," she said.

"In addition, I assume this office cognizant of my 14 years in the Magistracy gives me a strategic view, practical socialization, and a deep understanding of the working environment. Chief Registrar of the Judiciary,"

She also acknowledged and appreciated her Deputy Paul Ndemo for holding the position on interim during the recruitment exercise.

Mokaya takes over from Ann Amadi, whose term ended on January 12 this year.
