A police officer involved in a non-injury traffic accident within Kikuyu market on March 16, 2024, has died while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

The officer, Felix Kelian Kentos, had complained of abdominal pains and was undergoing treatment. He died on Friday, March 22.

Preliminary investigations reveal that he was assaulted by known persons after an altercation over the traffic accident.

The suspects in the case have been apprehended and are currently in police custody. Police are also seeking a woman who was present at the scene during the assault.

Boda boda riders present during the incident are also being sought.

The deceased's body has been preserved at Umash Funeral Services Mortuary in Mbagathi, awaiting an autopsy to shed more light on the cause of death.
