Five other suspects linked to the Mradi area, Embakasi gas inferno are still at large as detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continue to narrow down on them.

Sleuths at DCI have already arrested Derrick Kimathi, the prime suspect who police say had rented the site of the deadly blast that left 6 people dead and more than 300 others with different degrees of burns.

"To ensure that justice has had its way, the DCI teams that are investigating the dreadful incident have so far arrested main suspect Derrick Kimathi alongside three NEMA officials who were found culpable," DCI stated on its X platform.

Those arrested include; the Director of Environment Complaince at NEMA David Ongare, Joseph Makau who heads the Environmental Impact Assessment department, and Mirrian Kioko.

"Five other suspects are still at large and are wanted by the DCI to answer to their crimes that have caused untold physical and emotional suffering to fellow Kenyans," DCI added.

Among those being sought include; the site manager Stephen Kilonzo, Ann Kabiri Mirungi of NEMA, Lynette Cheruyoit who is NEMA's Senior Environmental Officer, truck driver Robert Gitau, and Abraham Mwangi who is a driver.

DCI is asking Kenyans who have any information on their whereabouts to report them by calling their toll-free hotline 0800722203 or report at any police station.
