A gruesome murder case has shocked the residents of Roysambu in Nairobi, after a woman's body was found chopped into pieces and dumped in a dustbin on Sunday, January 14.

According to a police report, the incident was reported by Pricilla Wangui Maina, the owner of an Airbnb apartment located along TRM Drive, where the suspected killer had checked in on Saturday.

Maina told the police she received a call from her caretaker, Mark Auma, who had gone to check on the apartment and found blood traces in the house.

She rushed to the scene and confirmed that the guest had not checked out and the house was clean.

They followed the blood stains to a nearby dustbin collection point, where they discovered the remains of a woman stuffed in polythene bags.

Police officers at Kasarani Police Station arrived at the scene and launched investigations.

They collected evidence, including the polythene bags, blood traces and CCTV footage.

The CCTV footage from the apartment showed that the suspect was a middle-aged man who had booked the one-bedroomed Air BnB over the counter of Jully Mini Supermarket.

He was wearing a black jeans trouser, black jumper, navy blue shirt, specks and white cap.

The police report stated that the victim was an unknown middle-aged female of about 25 years old.

The scene was processed and documented at Kasarani police Station as the remains of the deceased were moved to Nairobi City morgue awaiting autopsy.
