Among the areas Kenya is seeking to cooperate with India is ICT which it hopes to benefit from India's capacity in technology.

"Kenya and India will expand partnership in technology along other sectors. We will benefit tremendously from India's capacity and experience as a global leader in technology," said Ruto.

The two Heads of State also agreed to diversify Kenya's ICT programmes and enhance its technological infrastructure by creating a partnership between the Open University of Kenya and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

Other areas Kenya and India signed MoUs include trade, investment, education, digital economy, healthcare, research and agriculture among others.
