Police shot in the head during an operation in Kasarani

A police officer is in critical condition after he was shot on the head in Kasarani, Nairobi by an unknown person.

According to a police report filed at the Sunton Police Station, Kasarani, the officer identified as Mohammed Happi was shot during an operation at the Hunters Stage in the same area targeting Public Service Vehicle (PSV) conductors operating without uniforms.

"The officers managed to arrest some few suspects and there was resistance from the general public and at one point, several gunshots were heard only to realize that the officer had been shot in the forehead," the report read in part.

The victim was rushed to hospital after the bullet went through his forehead and exited at the back.

Police have said that they are investigating the incident.
