Kenya and Czech Republic sign a trade, investment pact

Kenya and the Czech Republic have resolved to enhance the mutual existing trade between the two countries with more plans in the pipeline to better the bilateral relation.

Speaking at State House Nairobi, President William Ruto stated that the co-existing relations between Kenya and the Czech Republic have neem of mutual benefit and that there is a need to further broaden and deepen the partnership.

"Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to broadening our relationship with the Czech Republic and we have had fruitful engagements with the country since 1993," Ruto said.

Ruto who hosted the visiting Prime Minister of Czech Prof. Petr Fiala also thanked its emance contribution towards Kenya that includes but is not limited to human capital, the information and Technology, security, and health sectors.

"Kenya has been a huge beneficiary of donations from the Czech Republic that has invested heavily in hospitals, especially in Kilifi, Malindi, Vihiga, and even Mbagathi Hospital in Nairobi.

The signed bilateral agreements will further see both countries benefit even more when it comes to imports and exports," Ruto added.

On his part, Fiala who is on a three-day official visit promised to ensure that Czech companies invest heavily in Kenya and further ease the trade relations between the two nations.
He also invited President Ruto to Reague while thanking him for the common project to save the Northern White Rhino from extinction.

"I hope official contact will be frequent. I want to see you (Ruto) in Prague soon," he stated.
