With only ten months into office, Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki has managed to scoop Kenya's best-performing CS according to a survey released on Tuesday, September 12 by Infotrak.

Kindiki's docket which has hit headlines in the recent past following the backlog clearance of passports at the Immigration Department and past security operations in cattle rustling-prone areas has been ranked at 59 percent.

His Education counterpart Ezekiel Machogu came in second with 55 percent, Susan Nakhumicha who heads the Health docket at 53 percent and is trailed by Kipchumba Murkomen of Transport who drew with his Agriculture counterpart Mithika Linturi with 53 percent.

"We managed to interview 4,000 respondents between August 2023 and September 10, 2023, through computer-assisted telephone interviews, and the sample was spread across 47 counties in 8 regions. There was a positive and negative 1.55 percent margin of error," Infotrak stated in its survey.

According to the poll, 30 percent of Kenyans believe that the country under Kenya Kwanza leadership is on the right track with peace being cited as the key indicator.

"53 percent of those interviewed also believe that the country is headed in the wrong direction with high cost of living and unemployment being cited as the main indicators.
