UN Avenue (Runda Drive Junction) to be closed for two weeks.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has announced a two-week traffic disruption along UN Avenue (Runda Drive Junction).

In a statement on Monday, August 28, Director General Silas Kinoti stated that the temporary interference will enable the installation of cross culverts and process earthworks along the road.

"We wish to inform the general public that there will be traffic disruption along UN Avenue (Runda Drive Junction) from 6 a.m. Sunday, September 3, till 6 a.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023," KURA stated.

The Director General has urged motorists using the route to drive cautiously as they approach the construction section and follow the road signs provided appropriately.

Additionally, the traffic police will be deployed on-site to control the traffic flow.

A week ago, the Construction Authority also announced a temporary closure of Kyang'ombe slip road at the City Cabanas stage on Mombasa Road to allow for the construction of two lanes.

The ongoing road construction is part of KURA's target to maintain over 3,000km of roads in the country within the current financial year.
