DCI officer murder: Suspect killed in gunfight, pistol recovered

One suspect was Tuesday morning shot dead by police after a gunfight ensured in Nairobi's Kayole area.

Kayole Police boss Paul Wambugu said the suspect was shot during the shootout.

Authorities have also recovered a pistol suspected to have been used in the murder of Makadara DCI officer David Mayaka in Kayole.

Last week, police said they had arrested one of the main suspects in the murder of the officer.

Mayaka was killed on the night of August 8 by three gunmen in a motorcycle.
