Kithure Kindiki ranked best performing CS in Ruto's Cabinet-Survey

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is the top most performing minister in President William Ruto's cabinet, a survey has shown.
According to a survey by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) conducted between June 24-30 this year, a majority of the respondents think that Kindiki is the best-performing National Government official, scoring 34 per cent.
At least one-third of Kenyans think Kindiki is the best-performing Cabinet Secretary, the report notes.
Among the top five best performing Cabinet Secretaries, Kindiki has maintained his position, compared to the March 2023 survey in which he got a slightly lower percentage of 26.
He is followed by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at seven (7) per cent and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha at six percent.
A review of the recent survey conducted in March shows that Machogu's performance has since dropped from 10 percent while Nakhumicha went up by five percent.
Following Nakhumicha in fourth and fifth positions are Youth Affairs and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport) respectively. They two scored three (3) and two (2) percent.
Worst-performing CSs
The survey further lists Moses Kuria (Trade, Investment and Industry), Musalia Mudavadi (Prime Cabinet Secretary), Aden Duale (Defence), and Eliud Owalo (ICT) as the worst-performing Cabinet Secretaries in Ruto's administration.
Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung'u also joins the worst-performing ministers' bandwagon.
However, 40 percent of the 1,530 respondents disagreed that none of the ministries fit the rating of best performance.
"Another four-in-ten (40 percent) feel that no such senior official is "the best performing," the report read.
The research sampled respondents across the country and was conducted through telephone interviews mainly in the Swahili language.
