The National Land Commission (NLC) has appointed Kabale Tache Arero as its new Chief Executive Officer.

In a statement, NLC said Arero emerged top following a recruitment process conducted on Monday, June 12,

According to NLC Chairperson Gershom Otachi, the company's top position attracted seven candidates.

The incoming CEO will formally assume office on July 1, 2023.

The chairperson, Otachi said Arero has displayed a good understanding of the Commission, and thus was the best candidate for the job.

"The successful candidate displayed a laudable understanding of the Commission mandate which is important in steering the work of the Commission Secretariat. She is a highly experienced professional with an extensive background in leadership in various organizations specializing in Human Resource."

"She previously worked at the Constitution Implementation Commission (CIC) and Postbank," said NLC.

Otachi further stated that the incoming CEO has been instrumental in maintaining a smooth transition following the exit of the inaugural commissioners.

Arero is however not new to the mandate. She has been serving as the commission's CEO but in an acting capacity, last four years.

She holds a Master and Bachelor's Degrees in Business Administration, and is also a Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and Certified Human Resources Professional.
