Thousands of Kenyans have arrived at the Moi Stadium in Embu ahead of the Madaraka Day Celebrations.

By 6:30 am, hundreds of Embu residents and guests had arrived at the facility where President William Ruto led the country in celebrations to mark 60 years since Kenya gained its independence.

Inside and outside the stadium security is tight, with military forces joining efforts to ensure everything flows as planned.

Those seeking access to the stadium are taken through security checks coordinated by the police and the national youth service men and women.
