Nairobi High Court is set to decide on the fate of Azimio's countrywide demonstrations at 2:30 pm.

The protests against the high cost of living began a week ago and were called by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko filed a case challenging Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga's protests.

Initially, High Court Judge Hedwig Ong'udi had ordered Mike Sonko to appear before him on Monday next week.

However, Sonko argued that the protests have held the country hostage prompting the adjustment.

Sonko filed the case after Raila declared Monday, March 20, 2023, a public holiday to allow Kenyans to participate in planned demonstrations.

A week ago, Raila declared that the protests will take place on Mondays and Thursdays every week until the government listens to their demands.

However, the police have maintained that the protests are illegal.
