Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino alleges there's a plot by the State to arrest him on "trumped-up charges".

The MP took to Twitter on Saturday noon, February 4, to make the allegations.

"Plans to arrest and fix trumped-up charges against me is coming soon. Please, don't forget to add Msando's murder, Baby Pendo's murder and ICC witnesses' murder. It's always a pleasure to be a client of the Judiciary," he said on his official page.

Reached for comment on the source of his alleged impending arrest and arraignment, Owino said: "In the course of this week, police asked me to record a statement at the Embakasi Police Station in regard to the death of Embakasi East Returning Officer Daniel Musyoka, which occurred in August last year. I'm sensing that the government could be up to something."

Asked if he fears that old cases could be revived, Owino said: "No, I don't think the impending arrest is anything to do with the past cases."
