Additionally, eight bags of cement were recovered.

In Kilifi County, 14 suspects were arrested in Malindi following a forensic investigation that linked them to acts of vandalism targeting public and private property during the same protests.

The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned once investigations are concluded.

"The tank was among several items looted from Kiritiri Market during the unrest," DCI added.

In Nairobi, detectives conducting operations in Kikuyu and Dagoretti intercepted a Nissan matatu (KAW 702K) believed to have transported rioters to Dagoretti Centre, where police uniforms and firearms were stolen, officers assaulted, and a police post torched.

Four suspects; Sammy Ndungu Kariuki alias Ndoji (alleged gang mobiliser), Lawrence Kariuki Ndungu (captured on CCTV with a stolen firearm), Ali Shama Tabet alias Alibaba, and Simon Njoroge Hiuhu were apprehended.

Police say they were found in possession of stolen goods believed to have been looted from local shops during the protests.
