Former Kenyan envoy to Los Angeles in the US Thomas Kwaka has advised youths in the creative economy to keep discipline.

Kwaka, popularly known as Big Ted, spoke when he met a section of youths who participated in a city modelling competition on Baricho Road, Nairobi.

Big Ted told the creatives keeping time was the most important aspect for them.

"I have been in the US as an ambassador in Los Angeles and I came to realise that timekeeping is very important," noted Ted.

The former presidential MC said many youths have missed out on opportunities because of not keeping time. He advised the group of young men and women that if they have a dream of travelling abroad to work, they must be ready to work hard and most probably in more than one place.

"If you can't keep time and practice it while here at home, you may find it very difficult when you travel abroad to work because time is of utmost importance and is not debatable," he said.

He, at the same time, advised women not to be enticed or confused by sexual pleasantries in exchange for favours informing them that after serving their "masters" they, should be ready to be dumped soon after.

Ted also told the youth to aim higher, be focused and believe in God for success in whatever they are doing.

He urged the youths not to despise small things.
