Police in Ruai, Nairobi are investigating a land fraud scheme that targets buyers of parcels at the Embakasi Ranching Company.

According to the police, some criminals are posing as land sellers and luring unsuspecting buyers to the ranch, where they rob them of their money and valuables.

Ruai OCPD Patricia Yegon confirmed that they have received three reports of such incidents and are pursuing the suspects.

"We are following up on the matter and we urge anyone who has been a victim to come forward and report to us," she said.

She added that the culprits will be charged in court once they are arrested.

The chairperson of the Embakasi Ranching Company, Lucy Nyokabi Mathenge, warned potential buyers to be wary of the fraudsters and to verify any land transactions with her office.

She said that some of the criminals are hired by a rival group that wants to take over the management of the ranching company.

"They are trying to tarnish our name and frustrate our efforts to serve our members. We have been working with the police to flush them out," she said.

She advised buyers to visit her office at the ranch or call her on 0722-123456 for any inquiries.
