Activities along sections of Kenyatta Avenue and Uhuru Highway in Nairobi were interrupted on Thursday, March 23, after flooding that followed a heavy downpour.
The rains began on Wednesday evening and continued through the night causing flooding that made the roads impassable for commuters and motorists.

The Kenya Meteorological Department predicts that the March 2023 rains will be below average in most parts of the country.

However, the Lake Victoria Basin and the extreme northwestern parts of the country are expected to receive near-average rainfall.
