Police in Nairobi are investigating the circumstances surrounding a burglary incident at the Nairobi home of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji.

It remains unclear how the burglars accessed the well-guarded DPP's home at Riverside Drive and carted away his television set, a laptop and shoes.

The house, which the DPP visits a few times as he has another residence, has two housekeepers, who discovered the burglary upon returning home on Thursday night, a person who sought anonymity told The Standard.

Security officers manning the house told police that they never heard any commotion at Haji's home, neither did they see suspicious people gaining access into the compound.

The matter is under investigation, the DPP said on Twitter on Friday, August 5 while confirming the incident.

"The DPP would like to clarify that there was a robbery at his residence, not his office and investigations are ongoing. The ODPP, as a Prosecuting Authority, doesn't collect or store evidence of any nature. Members of the public and media are urged not to politicizse this incident," he said.
