Safari Rally aces Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo and Ian Duncan are some of the top drivers who have confirmed participation in today’s KCB Gilgil Autocross Championships.

The one day competition will see the drivers and riders use their powerful machines at Oleleshwa Farm in the penultimate leg of the season.

Other experienced drivers expected in highly anticipated competition are Erick Bengi, Maxine Wahome, Frank Tundo and Sam Karangatha.

They will race in a course of 2.2km which is twisty and running clockwise but very slippery during rainy seasons.

The event’s Relationship Officer Ian Mwangi said so far 32 riders had confirmed participation by the close of business on Thursday evening, which was the deadline for entry registration.

He assured all participants and the general public of adequate security at the event.

“We’ll provide adequate security for all participants and spectators and there should be no cause for alarm for all players when at the venue of the competition,” said Mwangi.

He said they have also put in place medical facilities for the riders just in case of any emergency both for the riders and spectators.

However, he stated that they have only limited places for spectators.
