Former Kenyan internationals Duncan Ochieng and Arnold Origi are set to conduct goalkeepers’ clinics in December, courtesy of betting firm Bet Kisure.

The two-day event to be held either at Utalii or Ruaraka Grounds targets upcoming goalkeepers below the age of 23.

Speaking after the fifth edition of the #DuncoMtaani campaign at the Kibera DC Grounds, yesterday, the Tusker goalkeeper-cum trainer said the best two goalkeepers in the nation-wide programme will travel to Europe for trials.

Ochieng and Origi will be joined in the exercise by Gor Mahia goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch and Bandari team manager Wilson Oburu.

“We are planning to organise a goalkeepers’ clinic in Nairobi. It is an open clinic for goalkeepers below 23 years. Depending on our budget, we can visit other regions in the country,” said Ochieng’.

Kibera becomes the fifth estate to be visited by Ochieng’, who is Bet Kisure’s ambassador after holding football clinics in Kangemi, Kawangware and Baba Dogo Estates respectively.

Promising Young Super Eagles midfielder Fidel Oguda, who scored a brace in his team’s 10-0 demolition of Marren in an eight-aside match at DC Grounds, believes such noble initiatives will develop talent in the country. [Rodgers Eshitemi]
