Harambee Stars take on Comoros today in one of the two international friendly matches the team will play during the Fifa window.

The team has chosen to play both matches in the Coastal town of Marrakech in Morocco.

Coach Stanley Okumbi who took over from Paul Put has recalled midfielder McDonald Mariga for the two matches. Mariga last played for Stars three years ago.

But with the team unable to qualify for any major tournament since 2004, the task for making it to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon might just fall on the likes of Mariga.

It will also be the first match for Stars captain Victor Wanyama in more than one year as he is coming back to the squad after a long lay off due to injury.

Michael Olunga will also be itching to feature in this match considering that he is finding it difficult to get a starting place for his club Girona in LaLiga.

Kenya and Comoros are no strangers to each other.

On Tuesday, Harambee Stars will take on the Central African Republic in the second friendly match.

Okumbi will be hoping to pick positive results from the two matches. [Gilbert Wandera]
