Cristiano Ronaldo’s private jet crash landed in Barcelona after it experienced mechanical problems.

The plane hit the runway shortly after take-off in Spain on Monday, leaving its undercarriage scratched and damaged.

Although the Real Madrid player was not aboard the plane at the moment, emergency service sped to the scene.

The plane’s pilot suffered minor injuries in the accident, with other passengers escaping without injuries.

At the time of the accident, Ronaldo was in Germany with his Real Madrid team mates preparing for their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The Real Madrid superstar purchased the plane last year, though he mostly leases it out to private clients.
