Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Andre Schurrle

Borussia Dortmund have made Andre Schurrle their No.1 target to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan - after the money became too much to turn Manchester United down any longer.

Mkhitaryan is set to join United in a move that could land BVB a total £33million, despite Dortmund having insisted the Armenian would NOT be sold this summer.

But with just one year left on his deal at the Westfalenstadion, plus the dizzying figures and the board’s unhappiness at dealing with Mino Raiola, the player’s agent, they’ve elected to cash in.

And now they well move for ex-Chelsea winger Schurrle as his replacement.

Bild reports that the German international, currently at Euro 2016, has already held talks with Thomas Tuchel, and that current club Wolfsburg will be open to sell after his difficult 2015-16 campaign at the Volkswagen Arena.

“The fact that Thomas Tuchel has phoned me, I will not comment further. We are now at the European Championships, and it I focus on. “
