Kenya’s Harambee Stars have qualified for the semifinals of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup 2017, after beating neighbours Tanzania by a single goal.
Vincent Oburu gave Stars the lead in the early minutes of the first half of the match. Put’d men managed to consolidate the win by defending well and terrorizing the defense of the Taifa Stars.
Now Kenya heads group A with 8 points after playing 3 games, as Zanzibar comes second in the group with 7 points after falling to Libya in a 1-0 defeat. Tanzania, Rwanda and Libya have now exited the tournament after the completion of group stage games.
Kenya will face any team on the runners up in group B, with either Burundi or Uganda as the likely opponents.
